Terms of Service

1. The service

I write a eulogy, legacy eulogy, or ceremony script based on a consultation with you and the information you provide. The service covers writing only. Attending, officiating or reading at a service is not included and is quoted separately.

2. Booking and payment

All services are paid in full at booking, through a secure Stripe payment link. Work begins once payment is received and your consultation is booked. Prices are shown in pounds sterling at the time of booking.

3. Turnaround

Standard turnaround starts from the date of your consultation: funeral eulogy 5 working days; rush eulogy 72 hours; legacy eulogy 14 days; wedding or vow-renewal script 14 days; script review 3 working days. I will tell you promptly if anything outside my control affects a deadline.

4. Your information

You are responsible for checking that names, dates, places and facts in the script are correct. I am not liable for errors in information you supply. Please tell me about anything sensitive that should be left out or handled with care.

5. Revisions

Two rounds of revisions are included, requested within 7 days of receiving the draft. Further rounds are £35 each. Revisions refine the agreed script; a completely new direction may be quoted as a new commission.

6. Your right to cancel

As a consumer you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of booking. By booking a consultation within that period, you ask me to start work straight away. If you cancel after work has begun, you pay for the work done:

• Cancel before your consultation: full refund
• Cancel after your consultation but before the draft is delivered: 50% refund
• Once the draft is delivered, the service is complete and no refund applies

7. Copyright and use

Once paid in full, you may use, print, read and share your script freely, including in orders of service and online tributes. I will only use anonymised extracts to show my work if you give written permission.

8. Confidentiality and your data

Your stories and personal details are used only to write your script. With your consent, consultations are recorded to make sure nothing is missed; recordings and working notes are stored securely and deleted 30 days after delivery. You can ask to see or delete your information at any time. I handle personal data in line with UK data protection law.

9. Wedding and vow-renewal ceremonies

Celebrant-led ceremonies are not legally binding. A legal marriage or civil partnership must be registered separately through the register office.

10. Liability

My total liability to you is limited to the fee paid for the service. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

11. Complaints

If you are unhappy with any part of the service, please contact me first at ipchospitality@outlook.com. I will respond within 5 working days and do my best to put things right.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
